And I got a deal. 6 new Cooper radials for about $900 mounted and balanced.

A tire place my company does business with took care of me.

I removed the front tires and took them to the shop. I swapped out very flat spotted and aged cracked 7.50X16 bias tires for P235/85R-16 radials. Load range E.

When I told the owner that I was leery of lifting the rear end - even only 1 side at a time - with my 3.5 ton floor jack and putting stands rated only to 3 tons - under Betty while the duallys were changed, he said "No Problem. We have a mobile tire truck and we'll come out to your house and get them for you for no additional charge".

What a great person and offer.

A real good thing since I screwed up my back yesterday while putting those beasts I took off in the back of the truck. Pretty tough morning so far. I was able to inspect the brakes on the front, hoses and lubed every zerk fitting I could find while I had access.
I can't wait for a test drive. Bet she's as smooth as glass now.
