Balancing 19.5 tries

I was reading a article on balancing tires. I have a vibration at 65mph and higher. The article said the 19.5 rims need to be lug centric balanced due to the center of the rim ( where the balancing cone goes) is not true. Getting ready to install new tires and shocks on the rig to help the ride. I changed the shear spring on the tax, new air bags on the front, but that didn't help it feels like it's coming from the rear pass side.

I, too, have the same vibration.  I've had the wheels balanced, new shocks (helped a little), new carrier bearing, new u- joints, and two new tires.  The vibration is still there at 65.  If I go faster it seems to smooth out, but I really don't like driving it at 70.  If you figure it out, let me know.  I'm out of ideas.

i work in the tire industry, and would recommend and use in motor homes and larger truck
equal tire balancing media. it is sand looking substance that dampens vibration giving you a smooth ride when driving.   there is no weight installed on the rim and it is constantly damping anytime you are driving.  only time you may feel a vibration is at very low speeds

First and foremost check that the wheel are straight and round! I found that on min out of six only two were straight and round. I say straight and round because they are two different things. Straight is looking at the tire from behind it needs to spin without any runout side to side and round it needs to spin without any up and down. I found a place that had brand new rims that came from utility trucks that had never seen the road, I insisted that he spin them without tires to check for being round. He resisted but did it anyway. We were both totally blown away by the amount of bounce and runout in three of the five he had! He told me he never would have believed that new rims would be that far off. The other two were not perfect but they were better than what I had so I went with them. I still fell it though. I doubt if the Equal would fix that.

About tire balancing! I have been running '
centramatics' for around five years now & have changed tires quite often. With these devices installed I get absolutely NO vibrations, wobbling, shaking or ANY of the headaches associated with conventionally balanced tires & rims. I just mount the tires & install them without any weights & I'm good at ANY speed. I DO NOT like sand type balancers or weights anymore when there is technology out there that is superior to others. My experience with other balancing acts has been a royal pain. It's a lot easier on the drivetrain & the tires will out last other methods. Look in my PICS & you will see the front & rear balancers installed on my rig.

When I bought my last two tires the shop used CounterAct beads in them.  Very similar to Equal.  Seems to work well since the front end doesn't vibrate at all.  It is the right rear that causes all the problems. I am suspecting the HWH rear suspension is out of alignment.

Handydan, I have a slight rolling vibration around 45 mph them it smooths out then around 65 it's a bad vibration so bad I picture the tag tire bouncing up and down. I drive around 62.

Mine comes active right at 65mph.  I use it as a speed gauge.  When the coach starts to shake, I know to slow down.  Before I replaced the shocks it shook really bad, but afterwards it helped a lot.  Didn't eliminate the shakes, but now it doesn't feel like the coach is trying to tear itself apart, just an annoyance.

That is tire balance but it also could have a lot to do with bad shocks making things worse. The Centramatics have been around for a long time and are tried and proven. I put beads in 35 inch big lug Jeep tires with no other balancing and they ride like a dream so I know the beads also work. The beads and any other product that goes into the tire depends on the inside of the tire being dry so installation has to be done carefully so as to not get any tire lube inside the tire. You also have to be sure that the air supply you are using to fill the tires when needed is dry air. Not controllable at a station.
