Can anyone tell me what the material the roof of my new 86 Cheiftain is made of?  The previous owner used the "flex seal" stuff in a can all the way around it and the items protruding.  I am getting ready to mount solar panels on every single available space and need to know what the material it is made of happens to be.  It is the original roof and appears to be in great shape.  It is hard and does not feel like rubber.

Thank you.  As for all others, your welcome to reply but no longer need it.  I have been reading every post I can and found my answer in other's roof repair posts.

Thanks all.

Mine is also metal but be aware, that metal is one very small step above foil! It is very thin.It will NOT hold a screw and a bracket between inner supports will work harden the aluminum from movement and it will crack.

I'm going to be using the 3M tape I have seen online.  I ordered a 3 meter roll last night.  That way, no screws in my roof.  :)clap
