I first want to thank everyone for all the help this site has provided.  Joining this forum was the best thing I could have done after buying a classic RV.

My RV is an 89 and it has the Carefree of Colorado Simplicity Plus manual awning.  The label is faded but it appears to be a model #BN3N4.

The upper and lower arms are not attaching, I can see a part or parts are missing on both sides.  Since the RV came this way I was hoping someone could tell me what parts I need to buy to make this awning operate properly.

I've tried contacting a few local RV suppliers but due to my RV's age, they couldn't help.  I emailed Carefree as well but so far no response.

Thanks in advance!!

Definately looks like something is missing...

When I needed to repair mine, I went to their website to get the PDFs instruction and operator's manuals...

Without being there in person, can you tell me if there are pieces at the bottom that go into those arms? Those top arms should slide up and lock into the top part, seems like those pieces are missing.

Thanks!!! I just got an email response from Carefree after 2 weeks.  Here is the part that is missing. Found it on eBay too. It's called a brace slide.

I was going go run out and snap a pic of how our Carefree awning arms are attached but our coach is at the shop getting exhaust work done. Sorry.

Carefree does have a great installation and owners guide thats shows how everything is connected.

Based on the diagram they sent, yes, it's needed on both sides.
