I was carefully changing one by one smaller weak vacuum hoses today. Guess I wasn't careful enough.

There was one I changed that was bad and when I picked it up it was on drivers side of carb and not connected to anything. So I figured it went to air cleaner so just cut a new hose and laid it there on left side a carb and it was pointing as if it went to air cleaner.

Well, I went and looked at air cleaner and there is nothing that goes on left side of air cleaner, only the right side and I see the hose for it.

Now I'm not sure where this hose goes. I didn't see any thing on side of carb.

Let me explain where it routes to.

I followed it to where it goes and it ends up over at the vacuum advance on side of distributor.

Starting at distributor and going backwards (forward physically) towards this loose ended hose a single hose from vacuum advance "on side of distributor' goes FORWARD. Then hose Y's. One in Two OUT. One branch OUT goes to a ROUND CYLINDER  plastic thing; WHITE/BLACK. This has one INLET and 2 OUTLETS. One of the OUTLETS of this round cylinder "do-hickie" goes up and around and runs back down the left side of carb.

This is the hose that needs a home.

Can somebody look at theirs for me please?

Thanks for helping!

Steve

Theres a vacuum hose routing diagram somewhere on the site. Search for vacuum diagram, routing, etc and you'll find it. Also, ours has a diagram on the air cleaner. Does your's?

Yes mine does too.

I looked at it a bit but it didn't make allot of sense since I could not find the distributor on it. I will look again.

Thanks Mike I will search for a schematic for diagram on this site.

Not much luck finding diagram on this site. Can somebody show me a link please? I tried search.

Thanks!

Your most welcome Steve. I just knew there were ones on the air cleaner that stopped me from removing it. Don't have that problem anymore, got rid of the air pumps and that pile of hoses on ours, runs fine! Bobby W%

Well no dice today finding the home for the orphan hose.

I can see why you may have wanted to remove the AIR stuff. I felt like a dentist replacing some of the cracked vacuum hoses. Not a good dentist I might add.

I was picking around looking here and there for cracks and delicately cutting off bad connections as you do with these. Went though 5 feet of hose in a hurry. Even ended up with a foot extra spare when done, LOL.

Just need to find it's home and I'll be all set.

It is totally crazy around the thermostat housing that I have been spraying with PB for a few days now trying to get the nuts freed up to replace the original thermostat. Hitting a few road blocks but getting others areas fixed.

The only good thing about all the vacuum hoses is there is no room for the mice to sleep. I was able to fix about 5-6 cracked hoses or bad connection in vacuum lines if it matters I really don't know.

Thanks for posting the PICTURE!  I'm real sure the ORPHAN is the H line, the BLUE hose.

Greatly Appreciated, Lets see if I can find it now.

BELIEVE ME, the mice WILL use the vacuum hoses AS a home so have no worries about their comforts.

Mine had 3 dead ones around the carb when I started working on it, LOL!

I found the home, I just had to look harder. It was on the front, left side of carb. The picture helped allot! Thanks. Making head way!
