I have 75' Indian --- Does anyone have any idea what would cause the front calibers to freeze up by just letting the motor run and only moving the bago forward and backwards until they locked up? I have the m-400 chassis with the 440 big block--- I have already ordered new calibers and boosters from napa for 41.99 each.

Many brake systems are vacum assisted, you might want to see if something is missconnected, disconnected, or otherwise not correct on those hoses. Moving back and forth should not cause them to sieze by themselves. Water in the brake line could cause the calipers to rust and sieze in place I would suppose.  Dunno.

Thanks for the info. However my husband decided not to get all new calibers, but to rebuild them with a kit, he now is trying to get the pistons to come out and they are very stuck in there, the o rings around the pistons have decinergrated on two but on one of the pistons it seems that the o ring won't allow it to break loose at all to come out. It is such a pain. We even have to order the rebuild kits and who knows how long that will take.

It may be to late at this point, but the Dodge motor home chassis manual says with the caliper removed from the hub (brake line still connected) to depress the brake pedal to force the pistons out of the caliper bore.  Do the same for the other caliper by plugging the brake line for the one you have already done.  If you don't have a manual, you should get one.  Might save you a lot of heaaches.
