Just a shot in the dark--Has anyone replaced the activated charcoal in the old two chamber canister? I think mine may be corrupted from overfilling fuel tank. I have it out, valves ,etc. check out OK , but being glued together assembly, unable to check inside. Before I get too carried away, I would appreciate any comments. Thanks--Harv

Don't these just trap unburnt or partially burnt gasses as the engine is stopped? Are you smelling it while parked?

Fuel vapor from the gas tank. When purged, the stored vapor is burned through the engine.

The vapor canister part you're looking at quick glance on rock Auto is about 100 dollars, not too certain it's a serviceable part? I purchased a filter for it, for about a buck - but it's really just a simple thing, never got around to replacing that either since it didn't appear necessary.
