Organizing the Keys

This seems like too simple a topic, but my son has a 1990 Winnebago Elandan and has a mess of keys. My 1990 Elandan came with around 30 keys, and I thought there was a separate key for each outside storage compartment. One of my first tasks was to organize the keys, and I found out they really were not so difficult to understand. I used the colored, plastic covers (WalMart) to organize the keys and to help remember what they are for.

    Ignition -- Green for GO.
    No color cover -- The door lock. It is such an unusual shape it does not need a plastic cover.
    Deadbolt door lock on main door -- Yellow -- same color as my house key.
    All outside cabinets except the spare tire cabinet -- Red -- first discovered this key also opened the gas filler door and red is a good way to remember gasoline.
    Spare tire cover -- Blue -- the last color in the pack.
    Safe -- purple outline -- I ran out of the solid covers, but found a plastic outline cover at the local hardware store.

Now I can quickly find the key I need.
