Hi everyone,

The window seals on my upper small wing windows are dried out and have shrunk. Is there an easy fix to this without removing the window and frame? If the photo uploads see the upper rear window and you'll see the gasket coming out of its frame. Is remotely effective to remove the old gasket and inject a bead of clear silicone ( I doubt it but worth asking). Is it possible to remove old gasket and replace with a new rope gasket and push into the frame and work my around the window frame?
What size gasket diameter rope and any suggestions on where to find it in the US?

Thanks
Matt

mmmm,.... this is where those close-up photos are helpful in descriptions.

I HAD new seals for these windows, but sent them off to others in need. BOTH the frame seal, and (more commonly) the glass seal in the frame are available at reasonable costs.

I'll have to look at my old records to see jus where I had gotten these.

Sorry on the photo, I pulled one from my library and looked good enough on my IPad. I think I am talking about th glass seal, it's th gasket in between the frame and the glass. It has dried out and shrunk so it has come out of the frame. I have been hesitant to pull them out until I get some advice.

Ok,... so look closely here, I believe this is what your looking for.

They also have the back frame gasket that seals the glass frame as it closes. A good source of many other gaskets, seals, and other items you'll likely need too. This is where I obtained mine and was quite pleased with everything from shipping to inquiries.

Yes, the install is pretty easy. Give a bit of careful consideration to it though, regarding fit, length, future shrinkage, unwanted stretch, and location of ends.

If I recall correctly, I had to order a quantity that was significantly greater than my anticipated need. Didn't wanna be a couple inches short!!! But in your ventures, your sure to meet others who may envy yours,.... and what a delight to help them out a bit, with the extra you "jus happen to have"!!! ;)
