There may have been a sticky black chalking on one side, that the glass was against, and your rubber insert trim held the glass against that chalking.

Tell me they have a 1975 dodge window glazing, if anybody can chime in weather they might be the same?  I'd hate to silicone these in place lol. Nothing newer than 75 they carry but I imagine, hopefully they would be the same??
