Can I charge two 6 volt batteries with a 12 volt charger?

Please shoot me and put me out of my misery. I have two 6 volt batteries hooked together equaling 12 volts. Can I leave them together and charge them with a standard 12 volt charger. D:oH! i?? when fully charged will they read 13 volts or better.

Yes. Put the positive lead on one battery, then the neg on the other. Use the terminals that aren't tied together.
