HI, I have a 75 Winnebago Indian that I am Parting out. How do you remove the drop down bed over the drivers seat? I thought it might be nice for a train layout in the house. Thanks.

Your in Ohio aren't you? How far are you from Thompson. A bunch of use will be heading that way in July. We'd be on that thing like Piranha on a stake. Well if I remember right just unscrew the plywood base, take the tension off the spring and start unscrewing all them thare screws that it.

Like TJ said, the base is just bolted to the brackets.  For the bracket assemblies themselves, the first statement is

CAUTION
The brackets contain garage door springs that can severly injure you
To sum degree, the weight of the bed counter balances the springs.  Even the weight of the plywood bed is a 2 person job.  It can be done with 1 however I can tell you from experience it is no fun at all.  Someone might want those front windows you could break trying to man handle the bed.  You have to disconnect the crossbar that keeps the assemblies on each side in sync with each other.  The bracket assemblies themselves are just held to the sides with number 10 screws.

Thanks All.  It is out and  ready to be sold. Now on to the dash.   (fun to learn how all this stuff goes together. I am surprised that I haven't had any response for parts. I did see a post of a person needing a shifter cable, but no response back from them. It would be nice if someone had a place to stock pile parts that everyone could utilize)

I ended up buying an entire Winnebago to get the drop down bunk last summer.

We used to have a "repository" of hard-to-if-not-impossible-to-find parts... my basement.  I salvaged All kinds of body edging, comparment doors, front and side windows... you name it, and had it piled up in my basement for 3 years.  Not once did I see a post needing any of it.  So finally, I definitely could use the space for my own use so I either took the stuff to the dump or recycled it.  Of course, about 3 months after that, people started needing eyebrow winnie edge trim, generator doors...
