 i?? i??   I'm new to this.  Hello
? What starter do i need?
1970  413-1  vin# H31BN1S362748  Spicer  70 Model A727
A southern engineer was on this before me.
The wrong starter was installed. It fits but the bendix hits the flywheel not engaging.
The teeth on the flywheel are much smaller. A 9 point Bendix do's not look right.
? What starter do i need?
Thanks!

I don't have that number, but here's how to get it:

When you do, please post it here.

Also, you can get a heavy duty one. I got a heavy duty one for my 440-3

I have personally replaced the starter on my 413 with a Remy 25213 - Which was later called the Delco Remy 25213. It's a big dinosaur and some folks have used newer, smaller starters. I chose to stay with the same one that lasted 48 years to begin with (I'm old school.) There is no doubt a vintage Dodge engine is starting :D  I hope this info is helpful.

Hi. your suggestion is a starter with 9 teeth on the bendx,
I'v tryed to upload a pic of the flywheel and bendx.
This starter requires more teeth on the bendx.
