Yay, for a 41 year old motor home, things are still working :) after finding the breaker box, most everything seems to work. Still gotta fix the water pump, and find a water heater for it.  Are there any water pump upgrades? The little air compressor doesn't seem to work, I'll keep fiddling with it though. Thanks for all your help

Water Air Compressor - No longer made so you might be looking at a conversion to the modern pump-on-demand system.

Here is a question:  Has anyone here ever thought of or tried to rig their water tanks with a 12v air pump to pressurize their systems??

I am sure the MacGuyver team could invent something.  Say an air bag compressor with a hi/lo cutoff switch control.

A lot of the older Winnebagos had an air pressure system. My 68 F 17 had a 12 volt air pump with a pressure switch.
I will convert to the on demand pump.

My 1970 Open Road had a little belt driven water pump mounted to a board, I had to prime it after I filled the water tank by pulling loose the "in" hose going into the pump and let it suck some air mixed with a little water, then wa-lah we had water pressure, it would last all weekend! You had to turn it off/on with the switch by the sink...A new on demand pump was on the list....but I was 18 years old, and never completed that list!!  It was all about the party...

What all does the conversion from a pressurised system to an on demand water pump consist of? Thanks :)

Putting an "On-Demand" pump inline on the water feed that supplies the rest of the plumbing. Also make sure you put a power switch somewhere convenient so as to shut it off when not needed or if there is a leak or leaky faucet that would cause it to engage intermittently.

Today's water systems look like this:

The pump would be installed on the output side of the water tanks of your pressure based system.

That's what I said.. :)
Make sure there is a oneway check valve on the city water hookup too..  That way it doesn't back flow into the tank and overflow..

Most of todays pumps have a oneway check valve built into them
