There is a shut off valve near the heater....Turn it off,  The off position will be at a right angle to the run of the gas line....on is in line with the run of the line.....turn your thermostat down. Then turn on main tank supply. Wait about 2 to 3 minutes, turn on valve near heater, turn thermostat up, You should hear a fan start...heater may take a minute or two before it lights due to air in the lines. The fan you here come on will purge the air, eventually. It may take several times, just turn the thermostat down wait about a minute and turn back up. If it still won't light you'll have to do it manually. But I have faith, it will light.
