Ok, so I bought a 1977 coachman on a dodge M500 chassis, while driving it to my home, whenever I used the LEFT turn signal, the engine would start misfiring/backfiring, any ideas???  When I picked it up, I had to replace a missing relay.

Thank you in advance

Hmm, thats a new one.  You have a short some place but not sure where.  One of those issues you will simply have to track down (most likely with much pain).  Dodge chassis wiring diagrams are in the 74/75 Supplement.  We also have them in the Free Manuals section of the Member Area button at top of page.  Highest suspect area is steering column wiring.

Try it with your emergency flashers too. It may help isolate where the short is.

Coachman,
1) Turn Signal switch (Dodge P/N 3738076)

2) You said you have a Dodge chassis but list a GM 454 engine in your profile.  Should that be a Dodge 440-3?

3) You have a 25ft rig but say you have a M500 chassis.  Sounds a little large for that length.  A M500 chassis would have 19.5" / 5 lug rims.  The M300 and M400 chassis has 17.5" / 8 lug rims.   Do you have the 19.5" rims?

When you are looking for something it is much better to make a post rather than use the gear box.  Gear box data gets lost.

He says his data plate says M500 designation.  The 454 entry was an error.  I updated his profile to reflect these items.
