Can you Change the Roof Air Conditioner to any brand?

Can I get one of the Ebay special RV air conditioners and just expect it to bolt on correctly ? Or for that matter an AC unit from anybody, Ebay or not ...

Pretty much any rv or marine ac will work.

They are pretty standard. Most are 13,500 btu, they all fit a 14 by 14 hole, have the same bolt locations, the same junction box for the supply wires. If you get one from ebay and it works fine, be sure to let us know.
We bought our replacement about 10 years ago, when it died on vacation. We kept checking in RV places, and the prices got lower the further south we went. Finally paid $500 in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, incl. installation. It took them less than 30 minutes, while I watched another mechanic unblocking the stopped-up-overflowing black-water holding tank of a late model diesel pusher owned by 2 snowbird full-time RVers.
Our roof a.c. still works finetoday.
