I've got a 72 Winnebago brave with a 318 Mopar and automatic transmission. I just got the radiator re-cored and my buddy ripped the radiator hoses off and got rid of them. Now I don't have a part number to find it. I've gone to the parts store and got hoses that almost fit and try to make them fit, but it's not working out for me.

Does anyone know what part # radiator hose I need, Car Quest, napa, etc...The lower one and upper one if possible. The upper one I can get a similar hose to and get it to fit but it's the lower one I mainly need. If you're looking at the front of the engine, the water pump outlet is on the bottom right, and the lower radiator fitting is on the lower right of the radiator. From the water pump the hose comes down and around the assessory belt. That would be the one I need. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the gates part numbers, and coincidently the NAPA numbers for you, they're at home, so I'll get them and post them here tonight when I get home.

How much did you have to pay for the radiator re-core? I switched over to an RM350 radiator (3 core) mine was so bad it almost fell apart when I took it out....

I will be more specific about titles...I'm just not used to being that specific...I'm a Moderator on Ford-Trucks.com :)

Ya Napa part number would be great.

I got the radiator re-cored at a local repair shop.  It was about $350 or so. My buddy had it done and I honestly think it cost way too much but at least now I have a nice radiator and I don't have to worry about it.

I got the radiator in my 413 recored in 2002. It cost about $450 then.

I hate to ask again, but my RV is still sitting because I don't have a radiator hose. Does anyone have the number? If not, can ya help me figure out how to go buy one? What do you guys typically tell the parts guy, I think my chassis is a M300 or something like that.

You could try Auto Zone.  When you go in there, you tell them the make (Dodge, Ford, whatever), the year, engine size, and then you say, "MB-300."  They don't know what it is, but it's in the computer.  If they have what you need, they can find it from that.

Also...  you  can  ask them if they  have  paper  catalogs.  most  vehicles are  listed   there.

Sounds good I'll give it a try and report back soon.

You know what I did? I took my hose and went  to the store and just stood in front of their wall of hoses and pulled whatever was close. Found one with the correct bends,it was a little longer than mine. Cut to fit.

I had the same trouble finding radiator hoses for my 72 Brave D20 with a 318!

And NO amount of searching through parts catalogs would get me one. I even have the original Dodge part numbers!

And it's too bad that you don't have the old hoses any more... 'cause you just have to go down to the auto parts store and search until you find something similar.

I got mine this way, but I still had to put a hacksaw to the top hose to get it to fit (on my new radiator also).

Cheers, Al

Looks like I'll have to measure the outlet sizes and use a piece of wire to bend myself a template and match it at the store as best as possible.

There  are  listings  for the  M chassis with  318  in 1971...   I would  take a  shot  at that one....upper  20620  lower 20559       flex upper 25582    flex lower 25530.

cskauto.com  lists  both  for  15.99 & 10.99   special  order....  if you are  near a  store   so much the  better...  no  shipping  but prices  may be  higher...

Enigma960080 - What place do those numbers do those correspond to?

Those  are  Gates  numbers.  Any  reputable  auto parts  store  should  be able  to  cross-reference  them.  I  got   Gates  hoses  from my  local Kragen Store (Checker or Schucks)
or  use this link  to  find a store near  you,

I simply called up the local Napa and they were able to supply the hose. Looks like I'm all set, thank you so much.

The actual Gates numbers for 1972 318 M300 are
20559 Lower radiator hose
20620 Upper radiator hose (cut length to fit)

Cross referenced from a 1975 Gates catalog, and the numbers on the two original hoses I had!

Somehow or another, Gates lists 1971 motor homes as only being MBseries with a 318, that's simply not right. Had to go back to a 1975 catalog to find the actual listing.

And the listings for a 413--M-300/375/400 ......

26510 upper
26531 lower

Both numbers still show as available at NAPA, but not stocked. Good part numbers though.
