Electric cooling fan – pusher or puller?

I have read in the archives, seems to be good and bad about electric fans. But when running on the beach slow, I seem to be getting warm.

I want to mount an auxiliary cooling fan on the front of my radiator; do I need a pusher or a puller? I seem to be running a little warm and they are inexpensive. Procomp 16” is $27.

My motor is the 318. Any thoughts? I assume, the current fan blow forward, so I am thinking a puller, but not sure.

When the rig is going down the road the movement pushes the air through the radiator towards the engine.  The fan attached to the water pump (rear side of radiator) maintains the same air flow direction by pulling more air through the radiator.  An electric fan attached to the front of the radiator would push air through the radiator.  You want a pusher style fan.
