Need dash lamps and switches explanation

My instrument panel has lamps built in. Near the top of the bezel on each side of the cluster is a lamp sticking out.  I also have 3 rocker switches at the lower left in the bezel. One is marked panel lamps, but runs the wipers. One is the fuel tank selector and the other is the washers. My questions follow:

What is the purpose of the extra lamps?
Where should the wipers operate from?
Is the panel lamps switch in a correct placement.

Can post a pic of the switches if needed.

Thats the new style Dodge guage set but I have never seen a 74 or later Winnebago with that syle of dash.  Seems the 75 D24 was unique with that dash.  Sort of a old style flat dash with new gauge set. Winnebago started using the one I posted above in 74 in their other models.  They have all dash lights connected to the Dodge headlight switch.

Dave, my gauges are different from yours though. They are also backlit, fed with the headlamp switch. Which is why I am confused about the extra lights. I am also assuming they are supposed to be operated from the panel lamps switch. Still don't know where the wiper switch is supposed to be.

My dash in the 78 Brave is like TJ's.  I have a windshield washer toggle and a wiper toggle, and the MOM switch.  That looks like the switches you have.  The panel lights are controlled by the head light switch. Turn counter clock makes panel brighter until you click and that turns on the extra panel lights. My guess is that the light switch controls the panels.  My circuit is printed.

The "Dodge gauge panel" supplied with the chassis is attached to the black "finish" panel.  Your dodge panel is the same one used in the other 74 and later Winnebago models (mine, JD's, TJ, etc.) except that yours includes the "Aux Fuel" gauge option on the left side ring (main fuel and oil pressure guage).   This is the same panel JD reworked (http://www.classicwinnebagos.com/forum/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=album;id=101).  On the other models, both the Dodge dash panel and the added perimeter lamps are connected together operating off of the headlight switch.  Your perimeter lights are operated by a seperate switch.  The windshield wiper/washer circuits were supplied by Winnebago not Dodge.  Ours are on the right side panel with the heater controls.  Your setup is unique.   From what I see, for most things you can still use the standard 74-75 Dodge wiring diagram.  Even on ours Winnebago modified some of the Dodge circuits (fuel gauge, dash lamps).  You simply have to use common sense to figure it out.

Yea, I'll figure it out. Just trying to see what was original. I will leave the panel lamps on  a separate switch. Time to draw up a diagram and decide how I want this to look. I'll let ya'll know what I decide on.

The extra panel lamps are designed to illuminate the switches.  The newer style dashes have them in the "hood" over the gauge cluster.  Having them on a separate dimmer is a good idea since I find that they are too bright when the gauge cluster is bright enough to see.  Rick
