Does anyone have anything to say about KYB gas-adjust shocks? Are they better than Monroes? Have a 1979 Winnie 26ft that needs shocks.

I'm running kyb's and have had a positive experience. There is an image or two in my album of the kyb vs stock shock.

I love the Monroe Gasmatics RV shocks we just put on our rig...way heavier duty than stock, and I think they are considerably cheaper than KYB.

I just put 4 KYB shocks on my 1984 Elandan (P30)  and although I have only driven it about 10 miles, I have to say it was a HUGE improvement over the original shocks. ... but they were 28 years old totally shot...  Made the ride a LOT quieter too!  If you do decide to go with the KYB, make sure you get the ones made for an RV, they have other ones for P30 chassis but they are intended for bread truck and the like...

Thanks for reply. Have not purchased yet but tending to lean toward Monroe due to price and shipping. Area I live in seems they want as much for shipping as for shocks.

Randy, How much were your shocks? I have an '88 georgie boy on a P-30 chassis and the original shocks are pretty much shot... I've also got to replace the front airbags, but have already found those.

Just pulled out the invoice from Summit

2 - KYB-KG6410 (rear) - $124.02
2 - KYB-KG6407 (front) - $93.40

Thanks Randy... $225 bucks for 4 KYB's isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The front airbag set up is only another $80 bucks.. so for abot $300 total I could really improve the ride and handling.

That's what I did Lefty and the ride is a LOT better. I also replaced the steering stabilizer with a new Bilstein one and added some rear air bags that I picked up at Sands RV for $150. Those rear bags usually sell for about $300. Bob said he purchased a pallet of them that was water damaged. Nothing wrong with them except he had to put all the parts in a different box.
