Ok, Im wanting to replace the old curtains around the bunk, windows, and on the door of my 79 Miinie Winnie.  I can find the carriers that ride along the track, or at least a working fascimle I should say.  The problem rest in the attachment of the fabric to the afore mentioned carriers.  The old ones were attached by some form of snap it looks like.  Snaps this size I cannot seem to find.  Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?  Should I just change the whole system?

Camping world had the carriers and snap system, also some online RV places carry them.I believe they were called curtain carriers but could be wrong about that.

We kept the old system on the overhead bunk, changed the carrier on the windows to a whole new slider and sewed new snap rolls onto the curtains. Its pretty straight forward when you see em in person.   PAGING WINNIEnME!!!!Where are you????Curtains questions!

Curtains!  Did someone say, "CURTAINS"?  When I got the WinneBeast, the PO had sewn rings to the top edge of the curtain, then expanded the triangular shaped metal thingies that go into the rollers, hooked them through the rings, then re-closed the triangular metal things.  It worked.  But, the curtains were all different and all ugly so we ditched them and made the kind that slide across thin curtain rods.  - Sob

We also have a 79 Winnie that I have ripped out the Dark green curtains and wanted to replace some of the snaps that are in the rail.  I found out how to remove them from the service manuel we bought directly from Winnebago but could not find a replacement part number.  So,   I called directly to Winnebago and was told that they do not make those snap systems for the older models any more.  He said the snap tape might work but he would have to research it.  After some further checking he returned my call and told me that would not work either.   His only suggestion was to buy a new type carrier.

We decided we are going to only keep the curtain track that goes around the drivers area and rip out the one that covers the bunk bed and entry door.  Then we can use the extra snaps for the wrap around window.  We are going to hang drapery panels in front of the bunk bed for more privacy and they can be pushed behind the drivers seat and tied back in place when not in use.  Over the door we are going to do something like a roll down shade that matches the interior.

The side and curtains on my 76 Chief were replaced by PO with a standard home curtain hangers that the curtain slides onto . there are pull down roller shades behind them that may be original not really sure . the pull down shades are made of heaver material than ones found around the house . They work well for privacy and prevent interior sun damage while the rig is not in use . They also help keep the draft down from the windows on cold nothern nights during winter winne use . Sea Hag
