Trying to sort out PO's cobble job..Dash start doesn't work, stop works, genset start doesn't work, stop does.  Jump solenoid and it starts and runs fine.   I can't figure out what is wired to terminal block on top, 5 wires that are connected to non functional control panel.  This is driving me nuts.  Help would be greatly appreciated.. Gregg

Can barely read your text so next time leave the text color black.

You need the 900-0337 service manual: http://www.mediafire.com/download/0l0aceldaiva6vd/Onan900-0337BfBfaBgaNhServ.pdf for you BF Spec A generator.

Turn to page 28 (pdf page 30) for a description of how the unit works and how to troubleshoot it.

The terminal board is used to connect the remote start switch up.  Hook up on page 33 (pdf page 35).  Grounding Pin 3 results in the start condition.   Grounding Pin 2 results in the stop condition.

All my photos are on Photobucket.  I normally use the post reply button to bring up the Post Reply window rather than the quick message section at the bottom of the page.  That way I can use the Insert Image icon to post a picture (1st icon on 2nd row).  Example:

The ribbon cable that attaches to the top of the block is the remote start switch cable.  Wiring diagram is in the 900-0337 PDF link above (pdf page 35)

What do you want to know from the smokestack picture?

No matter how I post!!!!

Can you just post text.  I need to understand what you question is.  Myself and the people at Smokestack (I found the thread) simply do not understand what your question is.

I take this pic to be your 3 wire remote start switch.

Yes, that is the dash remote which stops the gen, as does the genset switch.  When I trace the 5 wires from the generator terminal block they go to tank/pump switch monitor panel in which only the pump switch is functional..

Trying to figure out wiring order by color for the 5 wires to the terminal block on top.

Up until 2 days ago I never had a problem with either start/stop switch, but when I loosened up the panel to check connections, 2 were broke on the terminal block.  Once I know the proper sequence (colorwise) I can test it.

Have to jump solenoid to start gen, but both switches shut down the gen.

Look at the attached pdf file.  A 3 wire switch would only use pins 1, 2, & 3.

Problem is which order do the five wires attach on top?  Bottom has seven wires, 2 on dual connector, and don't know that connection order, and wire 8 is not connected to anything and no vacant terminal to connect it to!

Read the very first topic on the Get help with forum features board.  That's what that board is for, getting answers to questions about the forum.

It explains how to do the gallery and the settings.

All it takes is to checkmark one box.... one... box....

Here's what it says to left of the permissions:

"Check the boxes for the membergroups who will be allowed to view the album and its contents.  Check ALL if you want everyone to see it."

i??   I really don't understand what the problem is.

As for the attachment error.  That's most likely because the file is too big.

I'll figure it out.  Dave said "everyone" was checked, and I reduced all files to under 60kb in Photoshop.

Gregg

PS.  If you want to delete all the "wiring" crap, it's fine with me.  It's very simple except someone cobbled everything at some point.  Nothing matches the manual(s) so I'll just rewire everything.

Oz

Everyone was checked because, after reading your post, I went in and checked "all".

The other possibility with the security error (which is an auto-generated message for any and all error possibilities) perhaps the file was not saved as .jpeg?

Anyway, you got the images posted and that's the important thing.  I cleaned-up the earlier attempts and I'll be deleting these latter, unrelated posts.

I did delete the gallery album since it's redundant to the photos here.
