I am finishing up my 18 mo. restoration of my '72 Chieftain.
Now I am re installing the big black Evans heater in the passenger's foot well.  I know the heater core doesn't care which way the hot water flows.
BUT on the 413 engine's water pump there are two 1/2" outlet for the heater, one above and inboard vs. the other.
Question:
Which hose goes the hot water valve and which goes directly to the heater core?  (The higher pressure line should go to the valve and the lower outlet is the hot water return)

valve should be on the return....= low pressure side.....pressure should always be in the core.
