hi guys i am a little confused as to what fan belongs on our rv .its an 1984 itasca with 454 engine ..some say its a 5 blade and some a 7 blade ..PO has put a flex fan on it and sure it dont belong  ..

It should be a large five blade with a thermostatic fan clutch. You may still have the clutch but if it is old it is a good idea to replace it since it is a bit of work and you will already have the shroud apart.

yes the PO replaced the clutch its new think he was trying rectifie the problem but didnt relize the flex fan didnt belong .. thanx so to find a 5 blade now and getter done

I had a 5 blade fan on mine and swapped it out for a 7 blade for better cooling.  Still have the original if interested.  Also have the part number for the 7 blade if you like.

The GM part number is 3999260 it is a 19.5 inch 7 blade fan. I was having overheating problems and went through the cooling system. My radiator had a small leak but was very rusty. So I replaced it with a new one from rock auto.com for 190.00 delivered.  While I was in there I replaced the thermostat with a new 180 degree one. The 10 degrees is not enough of a temp difference to cause a issue with the computer.  Now no matter what she never gets above 195. Love it when a plan works.
