Sooo.... the ole poop tank on Rooster is shot. I've been putting this off cause I really don't want to mess with it. Well, it's time. At first I dumped some vegetable oil down the toilet to lube the drain valve seals. I immediately noticed the oil on the ground. Looked at the tank and it has cracks everywhere on the bottom. So, in an act of desperation I coated the whole bottom of the tank with a couple cans of that spray rubber. I let it cure for a couple of weeks while I worked on other issues. Well, I finally poured some water down the toilet and sure enough the tank is leaking. One spot I can't see... one where I sprayed the rubber... and another at the drain junction.

So, I'm thinking it will be best to just replace the tank. First of all, do I just unblot the toilet, then the tank and drop it? Luckily it's very easy to get to. Will the new tank have a pre-drilled hole for the toilet or do I do that myself? I've never looked at a new tank... let alone thought about replacing one. I'm assuming it may be a bit of a challenge finding the new replacement tank....?
