Hi the model # should be behind the toilet, you may have to remove the toilet to get to it.

We have the same Thetford toilet in our 77 Itasca.  The previous owners also kept all the original paperwork and booklets that came with the rig. (Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!)...According to both the Itasca owners manual, and the Thetford owners manual, the toilet seal is mostly designed to keep water in the bowl long enough for you to use the bathroom...since you don't really want to travel with water in the bowl.  You are supposed to fill the toilet using the small foot lever right before use.

The seal is actually just a teflon slide valve.  According to both the Itasca owners manual and the Thetford owners manual, you can restore the seal and help keep it water tight by periodically spraying the teflon slide with silicone spray...yep, thats what both owners manuals say...silicone spray on the teflon slide in the bottom of the bowl.  If it still won't seal right, check the grooves that the slide slides in for "foriegn matter"  (Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww), and carefully remove the foriegn matter without damaging the grooves.

Good luck!

There is a good parts house for these at http://www.marksrv.com/.  Has drawings and parts info.

Thanks for this, I just pulled my RV's toilet and took apart what I could because the door wouldn't slide. I was looking at what I could use on the seals once I get it cleaned up.
