Fleetwood Southwind driver door switch doesn't work right

I am trying to get my just acquired 1987 Fleetwood Southwind 23ft ready to head west. Nosing around trying figure everything out on this thing I found a foot-well light on the driver side with broken wire. Well I fixed the wire and the light works and comes on and off with the door, but every now and then it will come on with the door closed. I can't for the life of me figure out what kinda door switch this thing is using, there is no button, I can't tell if there is some kinda HAL effect sensor or what. Did they use those in 87?? Does anybody have a clue how this thing works and if it's something i can fix?
