Hello,
I am honestly starting to feel like I am chasing a Unicorn.  I have a 88 Chieftain 22 that I recently acquired and am restoring.  It has been quite a learning curve so far.  My biggest issue is sleeping arrangements. I need more beds.
One option I have seen in other years is the pull down bed above the cab. I could hard mount a bed frame I am sure but the pull down would really be ideal.

Where can I buy the scissor style hardware or something equivalent that was found in the late 70's early 80's Winnebago's? I have attached a picture I found in another thread.  I have come across quite a few threads discussing repair, retrofit to gas and others but no one ever says where I can get the hardware.  Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated.

I apologize if this has been discussed or answered somewhere. I have spent hours looking on line for an answer and most of the threads discussing this end up here.

That is what I did... found someone parting one out locally.  You may also have a salvage yard in your area that deals with RVs.

This is the reason why you can't find any consistent source for this item and all the other topics don't include any:  they aren't manufactured and haven't been for a long time.

Salvage yards, Craig's List, eBay (shipping would be expensive due to the weight), and local ads are the only places you can find the item.  They were used in the Winnebagos as far back as 1974, possibly other brands, but I'm unsure of that.

Many Allegros had them. I looked at a new high end coach and it had one - electrically lowered and raised of course.

My 1973 Brave has one. However I'm unsure if it was a retrofit or original as the "shelf" brackets are still there.

Unfortunately this has been my experience so far.
It looks like I live in a RV salvage yard desert here in Utah. Nothing within any real range.
Does anyone know the technical name for the part or what phrase I can search for?
So far "Winnebago scissor" doesn't seem to do the trick. I have tried a few other terms with no results.
I also came across a part by KwiKee but I cant seem to find a way to purchase it or even tell if its available.

Do you mean internet search?  I tried RV scissor bed, lift bed, drop down bed... came up empty too.   :(

Been doing some more looking around
076760-02-000 *looks* like the part number I need

I found a referance that says that translates into:
Kwikee overhead bunk kit
This comes with 2 scissor hinges and 2 48" cross bars.
Winnebago used these in the 1980's for their fold down bunk beds.

Will have to keep digging I guess.

My 1987 Allegro has one and Tiffin used them for many years.
Kwikee stopped making them years ago but may have parts... Misshawaka In. 1-541-942-3888
I would also try CoLaw Salvage... JD may be able to help with that.
You can also call Tiffin in RedBay AL as they still maintain in stock lots of parts for the older rigs....
Sands RV in Madison OH....  if they don't have it may be able to get it etc.. or know.
Hi from Gone to the Dawgs! 1987 Tiffin Allegro in Deale MD. CW Rocks!!!

WinnebagoParts.com (800-933-7742) has a new set still in stock. I thought about using a set of these on my project F17 but decided against it in the end.

Where in Utah? There's a 1973 Brave in a scrapyard in Tooele where I live... although I cannot remember if it has the scissor lift bed in the front or not. I might be there on Saturday to get an oven knob, so I can check for you.

To be honest, here in Utah, your better off just going to salvage yards and looking, there are a few along the 201 in SLC. I use Google Maps to peer into their lots from above, then hope the RVs are still there, haha.

I am sorry, I was not able to get to the salvage yard in Tooele to check... I plan on doing that this weekend, if all goes well.
