Mixing Types of Grease?

Excuse me as I ask a very basic, need to know question.  I need to lubricate the chassis of my Holiday Rambler since I have the front wheels off.  The tube of grease says to not mix different types of grease.  I don't have any idea of what grease was previously used so I was going with general, multi-purpose lithium grease.  Does it really matter if I mix different types in the suspension.  I could see a problem mixing it on bearings but I would think suspension just needs to be greasy and doesn't much care what is on it.  What's your opinion?

Any brand general, multi-purpose lithium grease should be fine.

I used the same lithium grease when I did the spring replacement after wiping off the old stuff.  It's the spots with the grease fittings you need to make sure you don't mix.  As long as it's not pressure related the GP stuff should be just fine..

A tube of Red and Tacky or Chevron Delo Red is great grease.  Used it for years trucking.

Been mixing types for years with no problems, although I generally use the stuff in the tube as opposed to the tub, unless I'm packing wheel bearings.  Just plain old Napa all purpose high temp grease in the tube.
