Having To Be Towed -How To Do It?

I have a 27', 89 Chieftain and I was wondering how difficult it is to be towed in case of a breakdown.  In the owner's manual there's something about the tow truck having to use a big timber under the front end.  Anybody have any info on this?

That was for the old school wreckers with the strap and chain hookups. You will not see them anymore except maybe some way off the beaten path. All modern wreckers have axle lifts that pick up under the front or rear axles. Probably not under the rear of most class A's due to how much overhang they have but the front is no problem. If it needs to be towed with the rear wheels disabled then it will have to be a large flatbed, Hope you have GOOD towing insurance!!!!!

After the accident last year we had our 32 foot motor home towed back home.  The wrecker towed from the front with the rear axles disengaged.  They know what they are doing.  Just let them know what they are towing and they will send the truck and driver to do it.
