Alt not changing

I started my motorhome today and noticed that the alternator isn't charging the only thing that I can think of that's different is I took out the two house batteries would that cause the alternator not to charge?

It should not have any effect on the charging system. Unless someone did some really creative wiring somewhere along the line in the past.

Some of them have a 12v wire to make them start charging when the motor starts and some need be at 1,000 RPM to make them engage.
