Anyone got a part number or similar for the O rings on the oil pipes that join the back of the radiator on my 87 Chieftain?
New rad arrives tomorrow :-)

Usually I just get out my o-ring kit and whatever fits. The radiator may need adapters so you might want to wait till it gets there to see what you actually need.

Oh, I thought you gt a new one. Most O-ring kits will have what you need but I don't know if you have the standard US style round O-rings.

I'll get a kit, easier if there are no fixed size....
Imperial measurement should be the one I reckon.. I use some on tattoo machines, but they're a bit big lol :-)

All the Tat guys I knew used rubber bands. :D Yea, if you can get an o-ring kit be sure it has the different widths along with the different diameters. It may be a larger kit but it will last you forever on most products you will ever run across. They come in handy for improvised projects too. Example, drain plug. Weld a nut to a pan, drill a hole through the pan inside the nut, slide an o-ring on a short bolt and run the bolt in the nut just snug. Instant drain plug. The rubber o-ring will seal it and also keep the bolt from backing out. If you want to get real artistic (taking into account your trade) get a Dremel tool and grind a small relief groove in the inner diameter of the bolt head for the o-ring to sit in and then you can tighten the bolt.

Here are a couple I would suggest, the HBNR are good to have for AC work.

Rad went in today :-)
O rings were fine, I got a 419 piece set for 5£ :-)
And on tat machines, the rubber O goes on the springs, softening the bounce.... The rubber bands go round the needle, keeping it Obe side of the tube :-)
