I have read about the J-channel issues on fibreglas roofed units- on mine there is a cover strip that runs the length of the rv on each side, does this cover the problem area or is this not an issue on my unit

You want to check for any water entry after a good rain before you start sealing anything .....In looking over the pic I see a lot of puck marks on the area shown ...... A overview of the area from the side as well as the roof with a close up of the roof in that area would help in evaluation!

no leaks there at all- I dropped the phone after this pic and it doesn't work anymore- the dark stuff is actually moss- I cleaned it off with a brush
