Replacement for Coleman 4225a furnace?

Has anyone replaced their coleman model 4225a heater with a newer version heater with same configuration?  Would like to do so with my 76 winnabago.  Too many issues with the old heater.  Thanks. Where could I check on a newer model?

I haven't done it with that particular model, but it shouldn't be terribly hard. Start by finding the BTU rating of the furnace, and the physical dimensions. After that, it kind of depends on what's near you. If you have a decent local RV salvage option, go see what's available. If not, ebay would be my next suggestion.

Yep! Got the same question. I don't want to cut a new hole or slap a patch on the side of the rig. I'm trying to find a way to use the same out let.

Hi I updated, and went with the next size larger Furnace I had to redo the exterior wall holes because the new furnace was a few in taller But it was not a big deal Also added extra outlets inside . The old furnace for the third time refused to light when i was cold (death sentence) BENEFITS electronic ignition all new fans output that will heat a interior from 32o to 80o in about 15 min  Also when set at 70o overnight it will not kill the 2 12V house batterys , newer uses less power runs less to do the job , As far as keeping everything original I think original was mostly cheapest items available . Look in the projects section to see installation  Frank  Hmm I just looked and it looks like i never posted them ??  Will do now !

TJ,

The NT-30 is and was the most common furnace. It measures 12 1/2" H x 12" W x 23" D
The NT-24 you linked to measures: 10 3/16" H x 10 9/16" W

They have the same ducting

I am thinking of replacing my furnace as well.  How do I search for information on what people have done here on this site as far as furnace replacement goes?

What you want to replace it with really depends on a few things:  Size of RV - cubic feet to be heated (you don't need a monster furnace in a small RV).  Size available for the new unit.  Duct configuration.
