OK, so now I have the new 40 gallon fresh water tank here, and want to install the little sensors I bought to see if the monitor panel will show the levels.  E - 1/4 - 1/2 - 3/4 - F

Here's a picture of a sensor and the owners manual page for the wiring color codes (will have to trace them out to see if they are still the right colors).  Looks like I need 5 wires, and 5 sensors, but not sure how the sensors are supposed to be arranged.

These sensors are supposed to be an easy install - drill a hole in the tank, insert round metal end, and tighten nut to seal the rubber into the hole.  Then attach wire under second nut.

Am I correct to assume the sensors go into the tank at the level they are supposed to indicate?
[e.g., the "1/4 Sensor" would go 1/4 the way up the rectangular tank, the "Full Sensor" would go very near the top, etc.]

And - does the "Power Wire Supply" go at the same level as the 1/4 Sensor?

Thanks for your help!

Found this generic info (for the KIB monitor system), so maybe this partially answers my question...

Am questioning whether the ground sensor needs to be mounted far away ("minimum of 10 inches") from the level sensors in my application, since it's not a 'single wire setup'.

So here's what I have marked out, with plans to install the sensor probes at the black marks.
The lower left one will be the Common lead (which conducts 12 VDC electricity through the water to the other probes), then starting from the bottom right and working upward on the slant will be the 1/4 - 1/2 - 3/4 - F  probes.  Not exact, but as each indication lamp goes out I will know the water level has just gone below that probe.

Funny you should post this..  I was perusing the CL listings for RV parts here in Seattle..  THis is what I found.  I'm not having problems with my tanks, just when I saw your post, I remembered it and decided to show you..

Hi Stripe;

Thanks!  I purchased those probes from Roy (Craigslist post) and they should be here very soon.  Will install one set into this fresh water tank, and get to the others (grey & black) later.

Appreciate the info!

Thanks Terry, that does seem like the way to go!  Had heard a lot of good things about the See-Level II system, but I didn't want to spend that kind of money (I am 'frugal'!)  i??

Got the fresh water sensors installed (used a 3/8" drill), installed the new tank, and got the bed platform all done, now have to build and install new rear cabinets.  Then finish my electrical system re-do to see if having sensors hooked up are gonna make the panel read-outs work...  If only I could find the time!   :)rotflmao

Stripe, you've been a great help!
