I was driving my 97 Itasca ICG34RQ from the tire shop to a gas station. A light turned yellow as I approached and I got on the brakes, I realized I wasn't going to get stopped so I got of the brake and back on the gas. I'm not sure the engine was still running but after a few seconds I realized I had no acceleration. I put the trans in neutral and coasted to a 'safe' place. I might have run out of gas. This is a new to me motor home so I don't know if the fuel gauge works correctly. Anyway the engine has not run since, well it will start and run on starter fluid butI am not getting gas to the engine. I have the inline fuel filter out and no gas is coming out where I turn the key to on. I want to make sure power is getting to the in tank fuel pump. I have some pictures of the fuse block and some relays. I'm hoping someone can help me identify the fuse and the relay for the fuel pump. I want to apply power directly to the fuel pump before I have to drop the fuel tank.

None of those relays look like the fuel pump relay. I can't tell from that pic where that is but the fuel pump relay is in the engine compartment, left side, mounted to the side of the dog box. Usually in very close proximity to the A/C compressor. It is not the square shape of the normal relay you are used to seeing, it is more rectangular. The pump will only run for 5 seconds when you turn the key on, then it will run while the starter is cranking. Other than that it will run when there is oil pressure. If this relay is bad there is supposedly no replacement although this old thread shows some that may work. Most people just retrofit a newer style relay. I should mention there will be two relays that look alike, one for the fuel pump and one for the emissions system.

I had not found that thread. Getting my flashlight and heading over to the RV. So the pink wire is the 12v line? If I apply 12V there it goes directly to the intank fuel pump?

Be very careful with that and double check at the tank end if at all possible! If there is one thing I have found out with these motor homes it is that nothing is the same between two units! Check to make sure that pink wire is headed to the back leaving the pump relay. If it is then have someone either laying under the tank or have them at the gas cap with the cap off and their ear to the hole listening for sounds. Just tap the wire with 12 volts and if you get anything more than a light spark it might not be a good thing to keep trying. Even better would be to put a 10 amp fuse inline with your 12 volt wire so the fuse will blow before damage is done.

I know this is not a great photo. The pictured device is 1/4 to 1/2 inch tall and about 4 inches square. Is that the relay? This is a fuel injection rig. Not throttle body.

I really can't see anything in that picture but the relay is flat and the wires on the plug are all inline and not in a square pattern like most relays. Here is some info from Dave, one of the electrical gurus on here. The manuals are in the members section and if you are not a full member it is well worth the ten dollars I think it is to join and get access to all of the manuals.

Thanks for the info. I think it is the A.I.R module. Back to the RV. Things are definitely in Winnebago locations not Chev. There are so many cable runs its hard to even see in there.
