Water in roof Air conditioner

Hello,

I went to move the MaddieBago to mow underneath her and water started slooshing from the A/C inside.  Can anyone tell me what this is caused from?

Well Brenda, it sounds like it has a leaky seal between the roof and the rooftop A/C unit.

If you haven't moved her in a long while, and had some VERY high winds and rain, its possible that rain blew up inside the openings on the outside of the AC unit.  It could be the seal, like John said, as well.  But if your ceiling is dry, and its the pan that has water in it (caused when the AC wasn't running) then it might just be rainwater whipped in there by the wind.

I have never had that problem, despite going through some near hurricane force wind and rain in Houston last year.  I guess it could happen, though.

I haven't had that problem either with the new Carrier air conditioner, and we have had some bad storms in the past few weeks.  The old DuoTherm we had leaked like a seive at the seal, so I have nothing compare the new one too.   It was just a thought.  I'm not sure how the old ACs were at handling rain coming at them from the sides at 40 mph...lol.

Thanks guys,

We did have a big rain storm the other night.   Maybe the rain whipped in there, I jes don't know.   The ceiling was not wet, nor had it been wet.  I believe I am gonna just get the silicone sealant and seal the rooftop A/C.
