Do you plan to tear down your transmission..Let me know before you start so I can have plenty of popcorn on hand..
The best mechanic is the one that can make it run with the least amount of parts!

Not going to happen,I am a firm believer in supporting the local transmission guy. While I have not yet met the man it is my firm understanding he is priceless.

I've flushed mine and now will R&R that parking brake system. There are some issues best left to professional's...Tranny's are one.

Hey there - how is your project going??
Something to throw out there and in the grand scheme of things is not a huge job - look into doing the 4L80 trans swap. That overdrive and lockup converter is a "come to jesus" moment once you get on the highway.... 2450 @ 70 mph
Your frame probably has the holes drilled already for the crossmember, just have to shorten the driveshaft a couple inches, use a stand alone controller and a $99 LS swap trans mount.

I'm all over that mod as soon as I get things in order. Right now I'm just tinkering around with small stuff. Getting ready for the big first drive moment..This I can tell you disciplined thought is first and foremost, getting out of control can get really easy such as curtains. They really are costly.

Actually it's a tough deal, this 475 I have shifts like a sledge hammer now I really like that needless to say

That is something that is nice about automatic transmissions..You can make it shift like a soft pillow or like the hammer of Thor..

That is what kills transmissions..the soft shift..it is done with slippage of the clutch packs and bands..

I went full Thor's Hammer with the A-727 and I am really wanting to know how it does..Soon enough..

I have a pickup with a Ford 460 and the C-6 and did the same hammer and what is nice is the fluid is like it is new..pink red..That is because of the solid no slippage shifting..
