Different Drip Rail & Gutters?

Currently working on the roof of my 1968 D22 and in removing the "gutters" I noticed the right side and left side are different.  The left side looks like a gutter while the right side looks like a channel in the shape of an inverted "C"  with the open part of the "C" facing down and away from the MH at about a 45 degree angle. 

Would anyone know the reason Winnebago did this?  I am just curious.

Without seeing a pic my guess is it is for an awning. Did/does it have any other hardware associated.

Herb is correct. The gutter on the passenger side has a channel in it for the awning to mount to.

My guess is that either the other folks are right, and its for an awning...or else it was replaced at some point in the past by a PO.

It's original.  The same can be seen in the pics of some others ... and on my ... very cool ... Winnebago trading card of the D22.
