I gotta tell you putting it back in was about 1/2 the time than removal, Now that it is in temp barely gets into the normal range on the gauge.  I  put a 180 deg.  Mr gasket thermostat in it as well , Prior to the recore it ran in the upper level of danger so needless to say I am extremely pleased.
Previous owner was running a standard thermostat instead of the  skirted style.
Time for a real roadtrip.  :)clap

Tell us more about what was done to the radiator.    Did you have it re-cored?    Did you have them add rows to it while they had it apart, or did they remake it in the same configuration as stock?    I'm going to have to do this sooner or later, so I'd love the info.     Congrats on a good fix!

simply had it re-cored same as the original configuration,   the previous owner had the wrong thermostat in it and I put tin the skirted style from Mr. Gasket 180 deg.. .  i figured after 37 years it was due and recored was a vast improvement from old. cost was $340.00 .  I posted a picture in my album of it installed.
