I have a pretty good leak coming from one of the oil cooling lines. I have the Chevy 454 motor.  It appears the leak is coming from where the braided hose connects to the solid line. Anyone know where I can buy a set of lines?  The lines I am speaking of look like what I have attach in the photo.

My lines, one end connects to the housing where the oil filter is,(assuming this is the oil pump), the other end screws into solid lines leading to the radiator.

Look up someone that makes up pressure hoses in your area They can replace the rubber high pressure hose on your steel lines  Frank

Remember to tell us what you do to replace them.

Here is an option.  Dorman makes many different oil cooler lines as they are very prone to leakage or just plain seizing in the radiator in salty areas.  I replaced many of them professionally and these work nicely.
Check out there website and see if you can match them up.  You may have to search a bit to get a match.

Thanks for all the help. So far I've check with orilley's, Winchester auto, summit and Napa Auto parts. My search continues. I'll update soon.

Every where I search for  the lines, the ones I find look slightly different.  when I search on sites I search under. 1989 Chevy P30 1 ton truck with a 454.  I went on Dorman and  I got these 4 options....

Option 2, 3 and 4 are similar

Most places have them for the 350
Just not the 454...lol

That is what I found when looking for the same.  I suspect the 350 versions would work, but no one stocks them they are special order here. Would like to have tried them. The oil filter adapter would be the same 350 or 454 and the block dimensions are the same between the motor mount and bellhousing.

Would you like to be our guinea pig and try them :)

here are what my lines look like

1st photo is at the front of my rv, second is midway and it changes to solid line.  This is where the solid lines terminate at the filter/oil pump.

What are everyone's thoughts with going with a universal kit/line?

Well, I would think that if the length is right, the fittings are correct, and you can bend the ends to fit correctly, use what's available.

Hm?

I had an A/C rubber line  replaced on existing pipe on a car by Delta Rubber  in Stockton.   I sure they can handle the  job....if not already handled.

On my 440, I needed ones which went from trans to the cooler at the bottom of the radiator.   A local, industrial air compressor manufacturer made them for me, and they made heavy duty pumps of all sorts too, so they knew exactly what kind of hose to use as well.

Do your lines go up under the radiator to the cooler in front of the radiator? That cooler is half oil cooler and half A/C condenser. I have the same setup and have not seen another one like it. Must have started around 88-89.

It appears they do hook up to lines going to the front of the radiator.  I did find some on eBay that claim to be a fit my my vehicle. I just ordered them tonight so fingers crossed. I'm hoping for a direct fit or a little elbow grease to make them work. If not I'll check the place in Stockton. Update to follow.

On mine there are two sets, one from the adapter to about a foot short of the radiator and then the set under the radiator. I was not able to find then either so I am watching to see what you find.

****UPDATE****  I ended up ordering a kit from Rockauto online.  I spoke to the dealer and another GM parts company who didn't think it was good to try lines from a 350 due to the possibility the dimensions on the hose was different and the fittings may not fit.

The kit through Rockauto consists of a 12' hose for $19.99 and another kit with the solid lines and fittings for around $35.00.  Once I get it and install it, I plan to removed the old lines, send them out for repair and keep them as a backup in the event this kit leaks.

Thanks for all the help.  I will try to do another final follow-up.
