Installing Auxillary fuel tanks?

I was wondering, since most folks seem to have aux fuel tanks, what you used and how you installed it.  I found a few companies that make aux tanks, but most were designed for p/u beds or to replace factory tanks on specific vehicles.  I did find one designed to fit in the truck bed, but it is flat enough that I could mount it underneath the rear of the coach, just behind the stock tank.  It would give me an extra 37 gallons, but I'm not sure how I want to plumb the lines and I wont be able to see how much is in the tank.

I could use it for transfers only, or have it on a switch to the stock fuel pump.  But I still have the problem of not knowing how much fuel is in the tank.  My other option is to install the 40 gallon tank from my old Suburban which would give me the ability to pump and monitor fuel levels if I use the Suburban wiring as a standalone system.  The downside to this is the tank is deeper, so it may hang too low.

What do you think or does anyone have a better idea?  Thanks.

I installed  a new secondary one on my 1972 Starcraft Motorhome. it is a Moeller Below Deck Marine Tank. You can purchase them from 12 gallons to 58 gallons it has a sending unit included.

Now those look slick!  That might be the best option so far.  Thanks for the info!  Curious, how much did it cost you for everything?

The Install probably cost about 350.00 all together including new hoses, clamps and the hold down kit for the tank . I used a 23 gallon for the auxiliary tank
