Hi there Classic Winnebago fans. I've been reading this site for a
while and really like it.

Regarding the volume of the two tanks. The first tank is 8554 cubic
inches and will hold 37 gallons and the second tank is 9983 cubic
inches and will hold 43.2 gallons.

This is according to a calculator I found at:

www.abe.msstate.edu/~fto/tools/vol/cylinder.html

Hope this helps and keep up the good work

The first one holds 36 gallons, and the second one holds 43 gallons.  This was calculated using a fuel tank design program from the Steel Tank Institute, and was calculated using a .0625 wall thickness with a 2-3/4" tank filler opening.

Here's the clickable link, basic box calculation, figure slightly less for the rounded corners of the length of the tank.

There's another thing your Winnies have better than the Ark!...lol.  Both of our tanks are only 24 gallons each.  Now, the good thing is that the price tag for filling them doesn't give me a heart attack...but I have to fill them so very often!

Measure the outside dimensions and subtract the estimated wall thickness (twice).  Then divided by 231 (231 cu. inches/gal).

Yall are all lucky, My main tank holds 52 gallons when it is empty ( don't ask me how I know that). And My aux. tank which the generator pulls out of also, holds 40 to 42, It hasnt been empty yet. :)
PS... My fuel gauge isnt quite as accurate as it needs to be!!!

never met a fuel gauge on one of these that was accurate. as an aside (i raised my hand to change subjects), check out some of the water damaged motorhomes on ebay. some hit by katrina, a 2005 $145,000 Winny Journey 38' with 3 slides is up to like $38,000 with no reserve. what a chance that would be taking but what a deal it might be.  hmmm....
