How do you light a hot water heater with a "Jade" control?

I removed and cleaned the hot water heater when I removed the waste tank on my 73 d20t. There was no electrical connection going to the heater just a gas line (which needed replacing). I am assuming you have to manually light it but I just want to make sure before I blow myself all over the back 40. "GTP"
