I plan to overhaul the tired 440 in my camper.  Does anyone have advice on the easiest / best way to pull the engine?

You can take the engine out through the front.  It'll help if you can raise the front and back of the rig at least 6" to a foot for more working clearance.

Remove the front bumber, grills, cross bars, the radiator and all the other stuff in front.  Although the engine is designed to actuall come out from under the rig, everything in the front was designed to be removable so that the engine could be taken out through the front. - Sob

Thanks.  That was my guess but I wanted a second opinion to be sure.  I'll take a bunch of photos and post theem as I go.

If you had a lift capable of getting the winnie 5 foot of the ground, you can remove the engine out the bottom with a transmission jack!
