Today I replaced my A-84 Thermostat with a 7 day programmable Honeywell 7500 series Thermostat.

First thing I did was to remove the old thermostat.

First I pulled the cover..

Removed the screws holding it to the paneling.

Then removed the wiring and opened up the paneling a bit to run the wires to their new location..

I cut the connectors off the end.  Won't need them for the new Thermostat.

Installed the back panel and wiring.  Dave gave me the heads up on how the wiring goes. And coincidentally enough, the wire color coincided with the lettering on the new 'Stat.  Red wire went into R termnal (removed jumper between R and RC), white wire went into the W terminal.

I then put the Main Panel into place, programmed the Thermostat so it knew it would be running a HEATER ONLY W/NO FAN CONTROL furnace and all the pertinent date/time and what units to display (F or C) information. Turned it on, turned up the heat and YES, I have Heater Control! (Will label it Environmental when I get a chance)

All in all this was a VERY easy project.  Easier than converting the bus into a Imperial Star Destroyer. (Which is also easy)
My next project will be how to clean out the ducting on a budget..

Hope this helps!
