Howdy Folks once again I come seeking help. I have a roof mount swamp cooler on my 77 minnie winnie. I removed it to track down a roof leak, found the leak, a crack in the shell of the bottom half. The question is can I fix this with a fiber glass patch kit ? the bottom seems to be made of plastic not fiber glass. Thanks for any input >

I would say so.  I repaired a full-sized vent/escape hatch that was the original, plastic one with a fiberglass repair kit.  Worked just dandy and I didn't have to spend $99 on a new one.

my roof is metal with a white top coating had to repair around the bathroom vent and the vent for the fridge..used  fiberglass mat and resin..works great no problem sanded it and added a white top coat..the thing on fiberglass or any type of repair adhesive etc...is the prep..if the prep work is clean and done right youll have a one time fix...after three years havent had a prob with it...good luck
