Need a part number for a throttle cable for a 1973 27' Chieftain. Any help would be great. Thanks so much,

The parts catalog isnt totally explicit about it. I think that for a 413 or 440 powered R3 , R4 or R5, up through the 1973s the mopar # is 2960213, and for a 74 through 77 the mopar # would be 3820840. That is for what is called the -throttle control cable-. You could email dartman67@aol.com - he supplies mopar oem parts at prices far below a dealer. I have dealt with him 3 times, always with total satisfaction.
When I needed one, the radiator was out, so it was easy to reach both ends. I took a throttle cable from an early 90s dodge caravan, and installed it instead. I had to make up new mounting clamps, hard to do unless the radiator is out of the way. denison

I took the part number (got it from this site) to a local auto parts place that I have good luck getting odd parts from and they ordered it for me, I think it was about $65 1 1/2 years ago. Try Denison's part # at a few shops and if you cannot find one contact me and I can check at the shop I use, maybe they can send it to you if they have one. Also saw one on EBay when I was looking 1 1/2 years ago but the price climbed to high.

I bought a new throttle cable for my 73 winne -440-3-last summer from NAPA they were able to look it up the only problem was that the threads were metric so needed a new nut. Sorry don't have the number

hey,  is your cable broken or will it not stay on the ball mount?  i had this problem with mine and i took the cable off, a royal pain, and examined it to find that all that holds the cable on is a little bit of crimping.  i inserted the ball into the cable clip and put it in a vice, took a punch and recrimped it.  it works fine now.  if that is not your problem, i talked with my local napa auto parts store only to find out they can still get alot of parts for the the old winnies.  the cable was available out of atlanta for around 65 dollars, or so they told me...hope this helps...swabby
