This is my first time connecting to 30amp service, and when we put a load on the system such as using our Keurig coffee maker, I hear a deep hum coming from the breaker panel. I can feel a vibration in the floor too, it hums a few times and quits, only during or just after running an appliance. Is this normal?

Thanks for any help.

Yep. IF it's part of the converter. (not inverter)

Normal for  a Keurig coffee maker....we had one, it worked once, quit working threw it away....your experience may be different.

We have one. Use it regularly. Love it.

Coffee makers are high demand current hogs due to the heating element. Your microwave may do the same thing when the Klystron powers on and off, AC compressor cycles, etc.

There are temp controlled fans in the lower converter section which is what you may be hearing cycling on an off.

Applies to all models.
The fan in your Parallax "switch mode" converter/charger has been designed to only run as much as is needed to keep the converter components cool. How often the fan comes on and the amount of time the fan operates is determined by primarily two factors, the amount of DC current the converter is supplying to the DC system (which also includes any battery charge current), and the air temperature inside the compartment where the converter is mounted.

You could also be hearing the transformer.

Mine appears to be a continuous humming and we are just running an extension cord from the house to the RV and nothing is on. I assuming this is still normal and safe and nothing we can do about it. It's pretty annoying...lol

I have an 89 Winnebago Warrior 22CE.

A little surprised that it hums all the time since your RV is a "newer" vintage RV, but I'm not familiar with whatever type converter you may have.  I had a '74 Indian with the original converter and it hummed all the time too, but I guess after 40 years of use, It's amazing it still worked at all... and yes, it would be annoying, especially at night since the converter was in the rear and so was the bedroom.

I'd be wantin' to make sure it's nothing much more than transformer hum. Those older transformers tend to "loosen" a bit in time. Given heat, heavy loads, and the knockin' around it gets from road travel, the coils loosen to a point where that hum will eventually become an obnoxious buzzzz!!! I've tape a few to load with epoxy to quiet them a bit,... it works. Always been a concern that the vibration will eventually lead to failure due to internal shorted coils.

Any other source of hum ALWAYS gives me concern.

Recently found my chassis was a bit "hot", on shore power!!! A meter probe stuck in the earth ground, with the other probe on the chassis, showed a bit of "leakage" I had a hard time tracing down. I always periodically check the various electrical systems, with good reason! No problem running on the generator, nor was there a problem running on the battery/inverter systems,... only on shore power. Since I plug my same shoreline cord into the inverter when "offgrid", I began to suspect the shore "source" had the problem. Turned out to be a faulty "shore extension" I had borrowed. Thankfully, no damage to onboard systems,.... but could have been exciting for bare-footed entry on a damp morning!!!
